It is a difficult time in which we find ourselves. Funding at all levels for so many worthy causes throughout our community is simply drying up. More and more pressure is being placed on individuals, corporations, and businesses to fill the widening gap.
During any given week, Colonial Wines & Spirits receives an average of six requests to sponsor or donate to some cause. As much as we would like to support every request made, it is just not possible. Therefore we have identified several charities which we support annually, while leaving something in our budget to support more localized silent auction events.
Our most basic hope is to support events that reach out to and support battered women, and children with special needs. To that end, we have selected Youth Home,
Centers for Youth and Family, and
Arkansas Children’s Hospital to support on an annual basis.
We also feel there are certain diseases and illnesses that reach out and touch virtually every family. Those include heart disease and cancer. Colonial Wines & Spirits offers annual support for the
American Heart Association,
Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute (CARTI), and the
Cancer Association.
Additionally, Colonial Wines & Spirits is proud to support the
Arkansas State Police, the
City of Little Rock Police, and Pulaski County Police.
In addition to the organizations mentioned above, Colonial Wines & Spirits donates items for auction or silent-auction to a large number of schools, churches, and private organizations. These organizations are selected based on information they provide outlining how the funds raised will benefit the community.
