Pairing Beer With Food

Wed, Mar 01, 23  |  beer blog

If you’re looking to merely have a beverage while eating, any beer will do. But I encourage you to take the short step to pairing a particular beer with your next meal. It’s much like pairing the correct wine with food. It makes a huge difference and your taste buds will thank you. Here are some good starting points.

HOT DOGS

Yuengling Light Lager

Light lager, 4.2% ABV

Whether you call them weenies, franks or hot dogs, these American treats need a light lager. Yuengling Light, with its malt/hop balance and crisp flavor, makes a pairing you’ll relish. Pun intended.

BARBEQUE RIBS

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale

IPA, 7% ABV

Bursting with hops, pine and grapefruit, Two Hearted Ale is a fantastic match for tangy, smoky, spicy barbeque ribs.

BOILED CRAWFISH

Great Raft Southern Drawl

Dry hopped pilsner, 5% ABV

Great Raft is brewed in Shreveport, so they’re in the heart of crawfish country. Southern Drawl’s hoppy pilsner profile is an ideal counter to the spicy heat of crawfish. Very refreshing!

Here’s hoping that you find these pairings as tasty as they are simple. Our Celebration Specialists are glad to suggest more beer pairings for any food you crave.
